Urban Sailor
A nice Freudian Quote: " We are imprisoners in the realm of life, like a sailor on his tiny boat, on an infinite ocean." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Row, row, the boat, love to feel the blast, Of sea wind over the face, so free and vast. Love to taste the salty water's splash, As sailboat dances on the ocean's dash. This dream, the weekend urban sailor's prize, Adventures on the waves beneath the skies. Stranded on an isle, tales they would unfold, Of carnivorous plants, and dangers untold. With sea breeze paradise, sailors find extreme delight, Warmth of sun in sight, casting golden light, Fell asleep dreaming of past seafarers, their might, Their voyages and tales, under stars shining bright. In Ireland's emerald isle so green, Brave sailors embarked; their spirits keen. They set their course 'cross the Atlantic's foam, To far-off lands they would call their home. In England's ports, ships tall and grand, From every corner of the land, Ventured forth, o'er the raging tide, Their legacy, in tales, would reside. Spain's armada, a mighty force, Crossed the oceans with no remorse. Conquistadors, driven by desire, Their conquests ignited the world on fire. Norway's sons, the Vikings strong, Masters of the seas, their stories long. In dragon-headed ships, they would soar, Fearless to unknown lands they would explore. Once, sailing was their life's dedication, To discover new world, their true vocation. They played with dangers of cultures unknown, Fearing not the horizon, they would be thrown.
