Why is it all so complicated When it’s supposed to be simplistic Why does it turn into something nauseating When I lose sight of the realistic? Around and around we chase Searching for some sort of normalcy Then it just becomes a waste And all I want is a bit of energy Is anyone there and are you listening? Tell me I don’t have to care Say I don’t have to do this again. Wait a little longer and maybe it will make sense Why all this anger and grief Seems so wastefully spent You can’t keep going on this way We’re standing against a wall There’s nothing left to say You know we’ve already said it all For a moment it’s calm and still And you tell me it’s going to stay quiet You promise me again that it will But it’s a lie so why do I still buy it? It will all seem unbearable at first Overwhelming and more than I can take Yet it seems it’s just our curse A bad dream from which we can never wake Tomorrow it may be better than before A little less loud perhaps Or only a few slammed doors Maybe it won’t seem like such a trap Maybe it will just rain instead of pour. Is anyone there And are you listening? I’ll just say one last prayer To help me get around again
