I'M Going To Be Fine
This is in memoriam for a special lady who helped many people. She sadly took her own life after losing the battle against PTSD. I've structured this song from the perspective of hope for a better future for anyone who has any form of mental health issues. This in no way implies that the path is ever easy or the war truly won... But my wish is that it will uplift and inspire hope... A spark of light in the darkness... Please be gentle with yourself and each other. Take care. Blessings, love and light. Best wishes. I'm going to be fine By Michelle Morris 29/08/2020 Like an unwelcome guest, You took over my mind; Never behaving, Never decent or kind... So I tried to evict you, Kick you to the curb; But you were obsessed, You wanted my all... I decided to fight, Fight you some more; I got the help I needed To kick you right out the door... Chorus And...I'm giving back my sorrow, Taking back all my tomorrows; And, I'm going to be fine, Yes, I'm going to be fine... And...I'm stronger than ever, Not failing this endeavour; And, I'm going to be fine, Yes, I'm going to be fine... (End Chorus) But you, you were determined, You just kept coming back; Like a jealous lover, You kept total track... Of all I did, thought And said... Sometimes it was easier To stay home in bed... But then I pushed back, Put boundaries in place; Forced you out to Get your, get your own space... Chorus And though you're Never really gone, I've got my support Structure in place; Got all my wits about me And I know how to face you... I can handle you better, Despite all you've tried; I'm stronger than ever, No more slave to your Dark, dark drives... Chorus © Michelle Morris, 2020
