I Send This To You and the Universe
It was a very long time When I was young living With a cold uncaring family and man Working hard feeling the darkness moving in With a mentally half brother, another a Viet Nam vet A father who was just barely there, A mother who did not care And I found someone in San Francisco A therapist, a man well known Dealing with violence and crime In our country and others But he still listened to me Unsure that I married a man Who I began to suspect Was neither loving or kind And slowly I knew my family Was truly the same And with each week He listened and I talked In the presence of such a kind Knowing man who spent his time Dealing with sad sick events and people Difficult places complex deaths and police Sitting with those who needed health And with time I knew that those People angry and cold were my family too In time I finally had to leave for work Going to the south, saying farewell I am not sure I left him knowing how Good he had been to me and if I thanked Him as I should, now he is gone, I knew what an incredible man he had been Gone now from illness Still I wanted to say into the sky That you had helped me and let Me begin to connect and grow with Another therapist later who helped me too Now I am sending from my heart This whisper to the universe and you A very special thank you!
