Chasing After An Illusion
It feels like yesterday when I just got off the plane and when I looked around, there was not a drop, sprinkle or shower of rain to be found; the earth was immensely dry and the Gods had disappeared from the skies, the grass had burnt up, the atmosphere was polluted with dust and the farmers had to transport water to the fields. It was like going back in time when the days were long and the nights wore short dresses in the sanctuary and the bishop and the priest meet in the vestry to have communion together and lament on the partially of the holy bible . They would sit for hours sipping from the rum bottle and tearing up each other over a ridiculous bible verse and when the phone rings, they start to sing to quell the vicious disagreement. Men lay bare in the street with naked backs and young girls wearing Cinderella frocks to school as the temperature elevates in the sky and the mountain around the bend keeps asking for a friend and just like old days the children gather in the yard and sit in wide circle and sing a wonderful lullaby. It feels like yesterday when I just got off the plane, the rivers were dry and not a tear was in the old woman’s eyes, the dry pipes stares at us all day and the water trucks with big hose curled up in the truck like snake, sprint over the town in corporate and rural area delivering drinking water. What on earth could have caused these spells, I kept asking myself over and over again, until I found the evidence in the kitchen in a store room. It wasn’t a green lizard or a croaking lizard; it was a green frog with human anther hiding in the store room. I tried to get it out but it had me jumping around for hours so I cornered it and put a bucket over it, to prevent it from escaping. And when I was done I throw it in the pond next door. All of a sudden the thunder starts rolling, the skies suddenly became dark, the heaven opens and the rain began to fall and it never stopped falling and I was soaked. It feels like yesterday when I just got off the plane, music was banging everywhere, traffic was busy, the streets were crowded and money was flowing in the town. The people were creating a make shift God and it really made the church people mad and Covid came just in time to change the script. They had to find a different tune and so the new world order scenario was their only chance to continue the frantic dance and so the search went on for several years to find the person that was giving the order. Blood spilled in the street and scores of people died just to find the one that was giving the order. And when daylight shines in their face and reality stares at them at the gate, the search was finally over but the illusions continue to drive them all over the place.
