The Final Piece
There are the bonds we forge at birth, There are ties we have upon this earth, Bound to one another until our eternal rest, For to love and loss is the cruelest test. We build each other up; we bring each other down, From cherubic faces to the ragged frown, We shout; we cry; we laugh, Guiding one and all on their path. How do we influence the ones we adore? Are we crashing waves? Or gentle ripples upon the shore? Is one a burden or the challenge they need? To fail or to succeed? Day upon day and night upon night, We ask ourselves what is missing? What will make it right? Our cups never empty, but will it spill? Always moving never standing still. Why am I here? What is my purpose? Are we here to play a part and be of service? Will we ever catch what we chase? Always moving, guess thats why it’s called the human race. I speak to you not as the voice in your head, But a fading thought that lingers while you sleep upon your bed, Nothing is missing, nothing is wrong, Life can be short, Life can be long, Who are the weak ones? Who are the strong? We each have exactly what we need, When we want we give into greed, So just give in, let go and release, For there’s nothing missing, there’s no final piece.
