In The Refreshing Springtime, When The Breeze Was Cool I used to go by the lake, sit on the old fallen oak In the refreshing Springtime, when the breeze was cool Later in the hot summer, there I would take a long soak As a younger happy lad I was certainly no fool. Then when ten years flew by, I was smarter and bit older I met her a sweet, ravishing beauty beyond the scope I had grown into a man, stronger and much, much bolder Full of delirious dreams and often that magical hope. But know this important thing, I aways backed my friends I was wise enough to never buy a pig in a poke Alway prudent with my money, always could met the ends When speaking of bravery, my friends said I was no joke. I used to go by the lake, sit on the old fallen oak Later in the hot summer, there I would take a long soak In the refreshing Springtime, when the breeze was cool As a younger happy lad I was certainly no fool.
