The Slavery Loop Hole In the United States Constitution
In the annals of time, a tale untold, Resides the slavery loop hole, bold. Within the Constitution, revered and strong, Lurks a dark verse, where justice went wrong. Enslavement's grip, it sought to uphold, A contradiction, a story yet untold. A clause concealed, with chilling grace, Deemed humans as chattel, a disgrace. Through ink-stained words, a nation was bound, Yet shackles of oppression knew no ground. Emancipation's cry, it took a toll, To break the chains of this wretched loophole. Brave souls fought to right this grievous sin, To mend the heart of a nation within. Struggles endured, a long and bitter fight, To banish the shadows, embrace what's right. With each passing year, we strive to atone, To dismantle the legacy that was sown. Injustice unveiled, the scars we trace, Reminders of a past we must erase. Let us not forget the pain we've seen, The battle for freedom, fierce and keen. May justice prevail, its light ever gleam, And heal the wounds of the slavery regime. For in unity, we find our true worth, To cherish the rights bestowed at birth. And with compassion as our guiding star, We strive to heal the wounds that still scar. Let history guide us toward a brighter dawn, Where equality reigns, and freedom is drawn. In this solemn pledge, we take our stand, To rewrite the future, hand in hand.
