The Place
you remember that place i used to stand and think when i was younger? the back lefthand corner of the building where a cinder block used to sit, though it had been moved sometime before you first came. that was where i was standing when i first saw you. i couldn't wait to meet you. that was where i was standing when you first asked me out. that was the first place i ever saw you smile with any real sincerity, and a little light in your eyes that i had almost seen as hope at that age, probably thinking of how in movies they used to do that when whoever was happy for whatever reason. that was the only place i wanted to go when we first broke up. thats the place that holds my favorite memory.i remember the whole night in detail. i visited that place last night, long after everyone had left, and for the first time in a long time, i cried about you. i replayed the first night i ever met you in my head a few times, and then i cried some more... and then, like an eraser in my mind,i felt nothing. no sadness, no joy, no remorse for the past or hope for the future. nothing. and as if it had never happened,i began to think, and therefore i began to feel, and therefore i began to cry, and therefore i began to laugh. i haven't slept so well in about two years.
