The Unspoken Connection
I saw your elegance as soon as I walked in, The golden brass, the sticky bar mats. I found my seat, I want to pause time, The moment you brought the glass up to your mouth And looked over, Your eyes, those are the moments in life. I want you to see my skies, I can't lay it out, "this is what I got." What do you have? You have the face that one would sculpture. Give me a sign, I am feeling unworthy. I'll continue to hide behind my glass, Let time take its course, Though my table is the loudest, I'm feeling drowned out, Feeling like a pilgrim amongst it all. I gave up winning or losing long ago, I just let things flow, No doubt I'll go home alone, But that was always the port of call, Too old-fashioned for my own good, Always been adamant it shall remain. I'll let things pass happily, I'll keep my dignity, I'm the best to make no sound if I choose to, No one has made their move, Have I lost out? Was there even a chance? I guess we will never know.
