Bolsonaro was president of Brazil from 2019 to 2023. Former army officer and right-wing nationalist who revered Brazil's 1964–1985 military rule. Jair Bolsonaro sought to arm a disarmed nation. To a place where gun ownership meant freedom. Anti-establishment populism led Bolsonaro to office. Furious by the Petrobras scam that soiled much of the political class. Bolsonaro grew up in Eldorado, a 15,000-person city in the Atlantic jungle. His father practiced dentistry without a degree until, he was forced by licensed doctors to switch to prosthetics. The third child of a family of three sons and three daughters. He attended the Brazilian Military Academy in 1977. He was a paratrooper and captain in the army for 17 years. In 1986, he attacked the military's pay system in Veja. His superiors chastised him, while his peers praised him. He was elected to the Rio de Janeiro city council in 1989. Two years later, he served seven terms in Brazil's Chamber of Deputies for Rio de Janeiro. Bolsonaro advocated military rule in his first term. His ardent social conservatism earned him sexist, homophobic, and racist labels. "I wouldn’t rape you because you don’t deserve it," Bolsonaro stated after a female Chamber of Deputies member dubbed him a rapist. He said, "They're not even fertile." His aggressive statements isolated him politically. He joined the Progressive Party in 1993. In 2003, he joined the Brazilian Labor Party. Then, in 2005, the Liberal Front, before rejoining the Brazilian Progressive Party, In the 2018 election, Brazil's political culture and economy collapsed. The second decade of the 21st affected Bolsonaro's fortunes. Juiz de Fora stabbed Bolsonaro on September 6. Post-surgery, he campaigned; he had 5.2 million Facebook followers and one million video viewers. Conservative Catholics and evangelicals supported Bolsonaro because he hated indigenous and LGBTQ people. He was accused of lying about Brazil's response to COVID-19. Masks bothered him. Brazil's pandemic care failed. Bolsonaro didn't hide during Brazil's first pandemic. Brazil has 15,000,000 COVID-19 cases and 428,000 deaths. His lies about injections and vaccine efforts fueled the outbreak. He reduced the crisis and critiqued delay as his image sank. A Senate panel is reviewing his pandemic handling. Thousands of flag-waving Bolsonaristas took part in Sunday's rally. Started in the 2016 Rio Olympic Park and went through Ipanema and Copacabana. After 30 minutes, Bolsonaro( without a mask) stood on his motorbike and waved to the fans. Following the two-wheeled support, Brazil had a record 3,251 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday. A northeastern state fined Bolsonaro" for the promotion in Maranhao of rallies with no sanitary safety." Bolsonaro handed rural property rights to maskless crowds in a Maranhao village where rallies of over 100 people are illegal. Bolsonaro's office has two weeks to appeal, after which the penalties will be set. Bolsonaro said he was waiting for "a sign from the people" to lift elected politicians' local virus restrictions, implying he might hire the army. His fans blocked highways and military buildings, demanding violence. Bolsonaro supporters claimed electoral fraud after the probe found no voting tampering but did not rule out fraud. Bolsonaro returned from Florida after three months. He was led out of Brasília's capital by many fans. Jair entered his Liberal Party's HQ in yells "The captain is back." The ex-army officer faces over a dozen probes in Brazil. Six are under inquiry, risking his political career and future political run.
