Psalm 2023
Oh, blessed Creator of Heaven and Earth, your breath of life gave all things birth. Our imperfections we confess, for Christ like love is our ultimate best. We offer you praise for soil and sky, creatures of sea and birds that fly. Our black souls beat in ancient rhythms that sing, rejoicing in blessings you abundantly bring. We bow to you, Omniscient One, against the pop, pop, pop of the enemy’s gun. The day is twenty twenty-three, with many hearts on a killing spree. Hatred is not new to you. You witnessed what our Lord went through. The Psalmist said, “The sun would not smite by day.” Flares and Solar storms have been hurling our way. Time and tides have shifted pace. Have mercy on this human race. Despite the changes in the land, on your Holy Word our faith still stands. The day is twenty twenty-three. Are we nearing the Six Trumpet’s decree? As 4 warring angels do prepare, to fight the powers of the air? Your whole armor, we put on decreeing protection from unknown harm. From bullet ridden babies, blood-stained walls, and lost trust, Jehovah El Elohim, Deliver Us. 13 The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. 14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.
