Take It All Away
When you are just about to move And all your stuff is in boxes You can't really remember what's where But you know you'll take it all and sort through then That's my mind at the moment All packed up Just staring at the empty room that used to be so full of stuff I am quite certain I'm not opening boxes right now I'm just wandering, remembering nothing much other than the shapes and shadows that are cast That loneliness of something lost pervading but not quite acknowledged No one is coming and I'm going nowhere So I'm not sure why my thoughts are packed away Typically, nothing is labelled - I'm that way inclined, thinking I'll just remember where things are I will in a way but I'm not sure how I can decide the order I'll go through this stuff I just wish there was another room to sit in Did I book the movers, will they come? I can't believe I didn't take the opportunity to scale down my stuff to more manageable amounts I conclude I don't need this stuff I'm walled in by it wherever I go The neat and tidy packed away brain of the person possibly about to lose their mind I will not tiptoe an inch towards these packed boxes I'll just breathe shallowly until they disappear on their own
