Heart On An Icepack
I had to put my heart on an icepack to let it freeze Felt too much pain in life and it's been getting the best of me You saw me bleed and cry, then you thought less of me So I had to put my heart on an icepack and let it freeze I was kind to people who used it to their advantage The same people when you need them will leave you there stranded They'll kick you while you're down and won't treat you to a fair standard They stabbed me in the back, I'm still trying to repair the damage Sometimes you'll want to become blind from what you've been forced to see Walking through the storm, hoping my strength is more noticeable than my eyes being watery Feeling tired after all the betrayal, wondering if this is the course for me Wondering how many more people want to torture me But the blood previously lost will be forgotten by my next scar I had to learn to use more mind and less heart Taking care of my mother but I've been neglecting myself Until recently I didn't realise it was affecting my health My journey taught me that I need to take time for me If I don't, I'll regret that I didn't take the time to be I've been struggling and life has been getting the best of me So I've had to put my heart on an icepack and let it freeze
