A Contemplation For Good Friday
The word of the day is: ' Excruciating' an adjective associated with intense pain, however its root meaning derives from the Latin 'excruciatus' meaning – ‘From the cross.’ Congratulations! for before or when we die we all will be - out of that cross. Life is a crucifixion for even the greatest joys come to suffering just as suffering comes to joy. Love saves. Jesus’s journey to and from the cross is both an allegory and a literal teaching. What we believe becomes our truth. Today let this Good Friday contemplation become our own way Of The Cross for life, be it short or long, is sometimes a heavy burden and rocky road to climb, and though the joy may happily outweigh the tribulations together they also are our ‘come from the cross’ story. Jesus is us and his truth is in us. If Good Friday were a sorrowful event then it would be called ‘Bad Friday.’ Nothing is Bad today.
