Beyond the Veil: Grieving the Death of a Loved One
The body lies still, no breath to take, A loved one's gone, a heart does break, But where does the essence of the soul go, Beyond this life, do we truly know? Do we grieve for the body, now at rest, Or for the spirit, forever blessed, Released from the bounds of earthly pain, Free to roam, to love again? If we could see beyond this veil, Our ignorance and fears would pale, For death would be a mere transition, And life an endless expedition. What new scripts would we then weave, If we embraced death, and did not grieve, Knowing that our loved ones live on, And that our time with them was never gone. So let us mourn, but let us also see, The beauty in life's mystery, And know that though we must say goodbye, Our love will live on, never to die.
