Following my heart Never to part Searching for me I just had to see How far I could go how little I did know Reaching beyond my star Never thought it would be so far When as a little boy Sat aside any toy Mother said I'd be a priest one day What a thing to say I went the wrong way Sampled what the earth had to offer me I wanted to see Fell Crawled back in my well Lost my way Nowhere to stay For my head to lay Took to crime Set aside the rhyme Fought But the lessons taught Pain fell like rain Nothing left to gain Turned From getting burned Hid from life All It's strife World in a haze Drug filled daze Afraid to come outside And I would hide Lost in the nevermore Sleeping on some floor Waking up high Slowly telling myself goodbye Forgot I could cry Life won I was done Put a rope around my neck, stepped upon a stool Such a fool Again just wanted to die But found I could cry Struggling to survive But yet alive Crawled out of my hole just to fall back Monkey on the attack Strength I never knew Quietly it grew The pain I learn I could ride No more wanted to hide Ever so slowly I stopped feeling so lowly The light found me Helped me to see I can now stand Understand So clear Life is dear Death is always near In time I got back my rhyme The collar I now wear Thought life wasn't fair But I wasn't fair to life Created my own strife Made it through the rain The pain Life is not meant to be the stain
