The Saint Patrick's Day Robbery At Milton Creek Bank
In the town of Milton Creek the sun was starting to rise And Jenna was planning for Ranger David a lovely surprise Unbeknown to him preparations were now well underway To hold a party in his honour on this Saint Patrick's day. She, Anaya, Deb, Tania and Lin had decorated the saloon in green And to make it the best celebration that the 'Creek had ever seen David had often talked of Ireland and said one day he'd go back To see all his family and friends, drink guinness and enjoy the craic. But he was a long way from Erin, Milton Creek was now home He was well settled here now and would ne'er again roam Meanwhile at the far end of town three shady riders had rode in And stopped by the town bank but were seen by Sheriff Koplin. He felt uneasy and asked Deputy Terry to keep a watchful eye On any other other dodgy strangers who might be passing by Two of the strangers went into the bank; one waited outside Sheriff Koplin asked Rob at the livery to get horses ready to ride. The sound of gunshots brought Sheriff Koplin rushing to the bank One of the robbers was holding a hostage and his spirits sank He had a colt peacemaker aimed at poor old Ma Kelly's head Then there was an almighty loud bang and the robber fell dead. The other two threw down their guns along with bank bags too Where that well aimed shot had come from nobody knew Then out of the shadows Jenna appeared Winchester in hand Saying "I wasn't going to allow them a chance to make a stand" . Thankfully the drama was over and the two robbers were seized And Sheriff Koplin ordered them both to get down on their knees A crowd had now gathered and Sheriff Koplin feared a lynch mob Old Ma Kelly pleaded with the sheriff and Jenna to finish the job. Jenna said " we're not vigilantes, we'll let the judge decide And if anyone breaks the law here, there's no place to hide Taking hostages and bank robbing for these two there's no hope They'll probably end their day on earth at the end of a rope". Then from the direction of the bordello Ranger David appeared Looked the worse for wear holding his gun whilst rubbing his beard Said "what's all the shooting? it woke me from my deep sleep" Then saw the robber in the dust and added "who is that creep?". Mayor Tom arrived with a wagon to take the robber to Boot Hill And asked for two strong volunteers to dig a grave and to fill Jenna and the girls still had work to do and headed for the saloon And they hoped to get everything ready by late afternoon. That evening David entered Jenna's saloon and saw all the green In the corner Tania was sweetly singing the ballad of Annie Breen Ranger David was totally speechless and he didn't know what to say Jenna shouted out " this is for you David, happy Saint Patrick's day". written 23rd March 2023
