Lady In White
Driving down the highway late one night Eyes tired from all the light Feeling low thinking my heart was dead Getting further away with each passing of the tire tread Saw this lady standing by the road. Maybe I should lighten her load Standing under the light All dressed in white Looked like a ghost But I'll be her host Pulling over in my car she got Brain started feeling kinda hot We talked but never told me her name I was feeling love and she was to blame Up ahead I saw a light. Asked her if she wished to stay the night Ahh delight Emotions long hidden Came out all unbidden Felt love inter my heart From her I never wanted to part. Held each other tight My lady in white All through night Before falling asleep in each other's arms Energy spent with the others charms I open my eyes she was gone Searched and searched till I couldn't go on Sadly I got in my car Drove tell I came up upon thes bar Went in to drown my sad The most beautiful lady I ever had My lady in white I thank you for the night Drinking my beer Fighting back a tear Over the bar I noticed a photo of a a lady dressed in white The lady from last night Pointing at the photo beautiful lady I said Bartender nodded his head Was my daughter ,shes now ten years dead
