Maelstrom
A situation or state of confused movement or violent turmoil. (dictionary definition #2 of Maelstrom) Today’s opinions are so contrasting and divisive that nobody seems to know up from down! I believe fairly strongly in what I believe. Others, I am sure, perceive me as a lunatic, yet surprisingly, I am barely alone at all in my beliefs. My voice is simply being stifled by a media that promotes what ‘the powers that be’ want us all to hear. Independent news I sometimes chance to hear is often censored or labeled as misinformation by the internet which is controlled by the very groups I disavow. Corruption is rampant in all echelons of society, which makes me wonder why my beliefs seem so far-fetched to the masses when corruption so often is brought to our attention in one way or another. Precious farmland is being bought up by nefarious people. Big Pharma is profiting like never before in all of history. Toxins are spreading across my land in various forms almost as if they were planned for us. Ranchers and farmers are being squeezed out of their businesses, along with many small-time companies. Meanwhile, only a few major corporations in the world own 95% of all the world’s companies. Everywhere I go, I see “help wanted” signs posted in store windows while many people remain unemployed! What is the new generation learning from all this? Today’s youth live in a state of confusion. Should they pay the high cost of college when a manager position at a fast food place seems to be the new profession of the college graduate? Three of my grandchildren and a few of my nephews take pills for anxiety! D.A.’s like my son can barely afford a decent home for their families. Meanwhile, drug dealers, celebrities, retirees who were lucky enough to have pensions, those who made it to the upper middle class, and the progeny of the already wealthy may be the only ones living without a care while many of today’s older “kids” are moving back in with Mom and Dad to make ends meet. Some banks have crashed. The stock market is all over the place. Compared to just a little over a year ago, gas and food prices are astronomical. Yet are wages going up? Mine sure hasn’t. Parents are discovering that the schools to which they entrusted their children’s education are teaching kids that their elders are not as intelligent as the new generation and are not to be venerated; that their parents’ values and traditions are beneath them. Things like Cancel Culture and Critical Race Theory dominate the new-age thinking, yet there are members of minorities themselves who find these philosophies disgusting and counter-productive to society. Socialism has crept into our schools and it looks so sweet, but those who study history are well-aware that socialism often leads to communism. Economic World Forums meet to discuss the Great “Reset” and a cashless society in which we will *“own nothing and we will be happy.” I can’t help wondering why more people are not feeling concern about all of these things. My country is a powder keg of gun-toting survivalist nationalists versus liberal extremists who believe thirteen-year-olds should have the ability to have sex-change surgeries before reaching adulthood. What catastrophe on the horizon will set these two groups off, igniting a civil war? In nature, a maelstrom occurs when opposite currents collide, creating a vortex that sucks everything down with it. Many might shrug off my ideas saying they do not see anything at all as I describe it. Even some Christians believe we are not headed for the End Times, but when lawyers are arguing for people whose rights were unjustly taken from them, and when the guilty elite stay protected by the very groups whose job it is to protect the masses, I can see that “strange” has become the new “normal.” A maelstrom is coming. It could be as close as months away or maybe it could be a decade from now, but I predict it will be here before my grandchildren have time to enjoy the fruits of their own labors as my generation was so fortunately able to do. *Quote attributed to Klaus Schwab. I saw this quote on their website, but the WEF has now removed the part that says, "They will be happy." Also, a story has been created to cleverly cover their tracks by blaming the whole thing on conspiracy theorists and a video that has nothing to do with the place I originally saw the quote.
