The Sacred Meow Society
My cat belongs to the Sacred Cat Society and that makes her very special in her mind she walks around like a princess and acts like a princess but, I let her 'cause I love her to pieces she has no job or duty and spends her day in her plush bed with hours spent washing her face and each toe of her feet she hates when her fluffy fur is in a mess and comes to me with a big meow to give her a brushing and I do, of course and my payment are purrs galore she demands her rather expensive food served on time, or Her Majesty complains with a loud disgusted MEOW her water bowl must contain only cool fresh water and if it is not I will get the look she allows me to pet her when she is in the mood otherwise, I can just get lost she has become very particular about her toys ignoring her balls and play mouse that she used to love demanding I pick up that dangling thing at inconvenient times and flutter it for her to jump and leap whatever happened to the joyful kitty that licked my cheek who is this uppity spoiled cat of mine this diva that must have her way is this what they teach our cats at the Sacred Cat Society well, no matter, I love my cat just the same and she can be my little princess forever _________________________ February 19, 2023 Poetry/Free Verse/The Sacred Meow Society Copyright Protected, ID 02-1526-539-19 All Rights Reserved, 2023, Constance La France Written for the Premier contest, The Sacred Cat Society sponsor, Mystic Rose, Rose, Judged 03/14/2023 Second Place
