Saw, Once
hey … I’ll be damned … there’s still some green in there, in these decrepit peepers, and just a flash of gold - gotta look deep, but it’s there … nobody WILL, o‘ course nobody does or cares to … (irony warning) funny … cuz, uh … a surprise-or-two might greet them - a spark - ha! a shimmer, even … yeah, a decidedly visceral darkness, for damn sure, (roots, deep … hidden), but perhaps, on a gem-good day, (though I forgot what those look like), they might even spot a hint … of wisdom … yeah, lol … from ME, on rare occasions - go figure … (tho mined from a shadowy realm, and paid for with agony) … but, man, it just doesn’t reckon anymore, cuz all the depth and color and light and intensity and each blessed bit of goodness, was drained by defeat … defeat and poison - a poison not even worthy of an f-bomb … and it all bled out to oblivion with the dearest, most vital shine of all … hope.
