David, the Bible's Lyric Poet
Expressing praises for the Almighty David declared Creator’s sovereignty. Exposing gratefulness to God above he earnestly proclaimed the Saviour’s love. Extolling greatness of the Providence he hailed the Lord for His omnipotence. Exalting the sole Source of perfect peace he thanked divine goodness that does not cease. Expectant always of Redeemer’s grace he sought with faith for compassion's embrace. Exclaiming about their sweet partnership he propelled us toward sublime worship. Exultant midst jubilant victory he testified of heavenly glory. Exemplifying frail human nature he confessed need for God’s constant nurture. Exasperated against sin-caused strain he claimed for Holy Spirit to heal pain. Examining self before Judge so right he prayed for cleansing with pardon delight. Exceedingly glad for eternal gift he did share wondrous hope of soul-uplift. Experiencing bliss of spiritual quest he inspired us to seek the Shepherd* with zest. *Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
