The Lady In Green POTD
I was a zealous fashion designer, whose elegant styles were ever in vogue, Like the rainbow time of cool, damp evening, that elegant colors go rogue. Lost in my work, I took it seriously, for creating something lovely is an art, And worldly people respond the best, to what comes purely from the heart. Like the sight of spicy rose, so arresting, because it bears the loving touch, And is one of the huge, little things in life, which we find we need so much! I was happy and socially sought after, like surfers seek swift, green waves, Rolling rhythmically out to sea, to the rosy sun, and tranquil moon's raves. I lived in the house of fixed stars, its tall windows all frosted in diamonds, And vivid arrays of colors flashed endlessly, like sunsets near the horizon! Yellow and red, orange and bluebirds, all came to visit our cobbled street, Like the nearby blue, lilied pond, where gorgeous geese chanced to meet. Pleasant hours were dawdling by, hypnotized with feverish heat of summer, As all the while, anyone knew, each year it awakens lovelier from slumber! Yon moon was in silver lake, as numerous crickets were in evening accord, And trees, caressed by the night breezes, did their sultry dance, in reward. It was in the park that I first saw her, the mysterious, lovely lady in green. Her elegant dress was emerald satin, and the most beautiful I'd ever seen! Although her youthful face was vaguely familiar, I was sure we hadn't met, But as a designer, I truly admired her attire, like the song you won't forget. I saw her again at a sandy beach, in green, floppy hat and matching bikini, She swam like a fish in turquoise waters, like scents on nights very breezy. I saw the green lady at more sites, like the Grand Canyon and jade woods, Always dressed in unique, exquisite styles, like myriad floral neighborhoods! Who was that classy lady, who always appeared to be going my sassy way, Like a gentle wind, once introduced, is a friend you know will stay and stay? Like the ever present, crimson rose, never far from the garden of my heart, When on the back porch of my blissful, with lemonade and a raspberry tart. One day I realized the lady's sacred secret, when she abruptly disappeared, Before my eyes, into a sudden green mist, nowhere about when it cleared! It was timeless, beautiful Mother Nature, smashing in her youthful, old age, Her colors and styles ever tastefully in vogue, and her whims the latest rage. We've all seen her, in the wilder, greener spaces, oft she went unrecognized, For she's more apt to be perceived, when her beauty's cherished in our eyes!
