Walk On By...
The contradiction of sight to thought In a vision that exist in the mysterious realms of time, the search continues The questions raised in my next breath, the answers pursued in the thereafter. A hand placed on the shoulder of the chosen Response to responsibility, I embrace the day with a smile The Bridge… The challenges are pre-existent in the nature of nurtured souls trained to love yet taught to hate; If the thirst of knowledge does not drive the understanding the purpose is lost. I’m drawn, intrigued by what is to come, no evil to end yet Heaven holds the promise everlasting. The lighted path secures my footsteps And wisdom? Leave it for others to judge and one day understand. The wise will never pause to understand wisdom yet the norm pauses to question it, arrogantly. Walk on by… Torment fuels the seven deadly. The lack of, the wasteful abundance of… How do I cry and show my strength to the vindictive? Should I wait for them? And love? “Those nails in your hands must have hurt terribly”. A hand placed on the shoulder of the chosen. Response to responsibility, I embrace each day with a smile. The Connection… A grain of sand given time and time again, so gracious as a knock at the door My mind moves meticulously as I paint this picture. The world continues to change yet the challenge is in the consistence of time, Every second is born anew yet dies alike. What we do with that second defines who we are. Today I will rise and rest like my father, and love again tomorrow. A hand placed on the shoulder of the chosen Response to responsibility, I embrace this day with a smile… By K. Dortch
