As You Fall 2022 Rewrite
You were A pointless Lover Someone who got Used to Being behind bars You tried to get in My door I should’ve locked it But my mind Was scratching At your flaws I thought You were Safe Your smile Locked me in And I forgot why Why you were Behind bars For all these years You walked in my door Your “hello” barely sent My heart was dying Trying to live In your world which is so broken Made me forget How to to breathe Every time your lips touched mine My thoughts went numb Senses to break away Just wasn’t enough I swore to love you Like you swore Back to me I thought love was this For once It felt real I forgave your sins Your busted lip The scars on your hands The blood that Punched The concrete From running With drugs Cigarettes destroying your lungs Swore to give them up For the high Of my gentle touch Thought you would’ve Stayed A long while But prison Is your wife I wish you two A life Of misery For tearing me apart When you were The one who sewed me back together My bones are yours Your kiss Delivered blood in my veins I came to see Your world Within my eyes Your father Was a drinker You believed in that same path You laughed At his lack Of feel No direction Of life In your head You’re stuck In this dirt Dug yourself so deep When I Needed You the most I tried tying you To me But you were never with me enough To get a taste Of beauty Or the life I lead But just sleep darling The walls Now surround you One window for you To look out And wonder Why your choices Tear apart the people Who meant the most to you Who would’ve fought The entire world Just to love you for eternity
