When will we stand up to the chaos that is draining us? For decades the alarms have been ringing About so many things that are mostly ignored From the environment to the annihilation of species The racism and sexism and destruction of cultures and creeds The mental health and education and welfare and overall health chaos The power hungry, greedy, elitist games and traps That create infighting where there should be solidarity Where people see nationalism instead of humanity Where they see lines and differences instead of similarity And through it all, we are measured and assessed Step by step throughout our lives Not realising that we are part of a great extinction Of ourselves and our authentic greatness We are becoming shells That echo into the Universe Wondering why our souls Have to keep coming back © M Morris, 2022
