Deep Roots
Mat and Mary married in the college town of Evanston. Their first child was born in Southern Wisconsin. Their second child was born in Northern Mississippi. Their third child was born in the city of San Francisco. Mat's hometown was hard and lonely and never felt like home. From '72 until "86, they never were able to dig deep roots. From '86 to 2022, they dug the deepest roots in Sacramento. His heart was planted, but the roots were not deep in Chicago. San Francisco was a lovely place with the beauty and great weather. They could have lived by the Bay and the Pacific for a lifetime. They could have dug the deepest roots near Golden Gate Park. Unfortunately, Mat lost his job and was forced to move away. The living produce of our lives demands careful planting. Topsoil is quickly dried by the rays of the sun. Rarely should one plant seeds in toppings of dust. Deep roots are required for seeds to produce. Their abode of the deepest roots was never a part of their plan. But the city through which two rivers run was right for them. Their hearts were planted and the roots grew deep for 36 years. There's a TIME to plant; A TIME for deep roots; A TIME to blossom. 110222PS
