Musings On This November Day
A pall hangs over all today; the air is chill. A dreary gloom descended before the day began! It snowed the day before, and big branches split off from two of our prized trees. Was the snow so burdensome for them? It was not so huge a snowfall to warrant this small destruction of our trees. My burdens too are not all that heavy as those when in the past, life brought bigger storms to me. And so I need to think of what is good . . . November still holds remnants of bright October’s days as her leaves are still dancing on November's streets. I’m comfy in my bedroom writing poetry, sneaking glances at my kitty cats. My husband is a bit unwell, but in the autumn of our lives, November holds the meaning of hope still glimmering before the winter tries to take it toll. The days of gray at time are sparked by sunny azure skies - those pleasant reminders that even midst our hardships, some brightness can peek through. Before November’ cloak unfolds completely and she melts away with snow into December, we offer up our Thanks to God, many all together - and I especially do so with gratitude for life’s necessities I’ve been provided and for all the other simple joyful things, but best of all - my friends and family.
