Stained Glass Scarlet
Stained Glass Scarlet, Scarlet Fasinera . . . a fictional character a vigilante haunting the streets of the Bronx with a mission to kill using combat and a crossbow a foe of Moon Knight the sworn protector of all people . . .The Left Fist of Khonshu but, can and will Moon Knight stop Scarlet ? ~ to understand Scarlet's mission, we need to look at her unhappy childhood . . . her mother was dead and her father was an abusive, cruel, drunk man one evening she set his bed on fire using cigarettes it was ruled an accident ~ Scarlet dreamt of being an actress even worked as prison guard learning combat but when all failed she became a nun one day, a criminal . . . Vince Fasinera came to her church seeking refuge, soon she traded your black habit for a wedding dress devoted, she vows to change Vince a baby came, she named Joseph . . . Vince never held the baby ~for fifteen years Scarlet lived in hell mistreated by a husband cruel, insulting, abusive (just like her father) one day Vince was gunned down by police after robbing a bank~ at fifteen years old her son Joseph became a criminal also, just like his father known as Joseph "Mad Dog" Fasinera . . . he murdered people too in time was arrested and charge with murder sentenced to life in prison he escaped ~ in the meantime, Scarlet returned to a church abandoned . . . the pews . . . rows of rotting wood cobwebs are everywhere, decay touches all surfaces except the stained glass windows ~ and above the faded vaulted ceiling . . . there is an attic room here Scarlet lives . . . in a comfortable space lit by candles, she looks at a photo album photos of a man, and baby boy, she loved as she sips bitter red wine ~ Joseph her son comes to the her church hideaway seeking the cash from his fathers bank robbery that he thinks she has does she? anyways a gun struggle ensues and she kills him ~ Scarlet becomes a lady of sorrow and death, dressing in a long red dress her eyes dead . . . her mission to kill all criminals using her combat skills and her crossbow she crashes in windows to find syndicate criminals in meetings and kills them all even a restaurant that Moon Knight's friends own she sets it on fire now, Moon Knight must stop Scarlet, and does capture her he listens to her story . . . and they discover that they have a spiritual connection not as lovers but connected in their painful life perhaps and what happen many times over . . . he allows her to escape for are we to believe that "The Left Fist of Khonshu" has failed ~ Scarlet fades into the background only to return, captured again by Moon Knight and escapes and on and on it goes . . . ~ __________________ November 03, 2022 Poetry/Free Verse/Stained Glass Scarlet Copyright Protected, ID 11-1498-774-03 All Rights Reserved, 2022, Constance La France Written for the Premiere contest, Moon Knight's Friends and Foes sponsor, Robert James Liguori, Judged 11/03/2022 First Place (Trophy Win)
