Once There Was a Love
Once there was a love. There was a love, once upon a time. A love that left defenseless. A love that hungered the heart Ready explode or implode. It was the world you and I wanted. A world to chase feverish dreams. There was a love, once upon a time, Boggled pureness of mind. You'd lifted your head, I gazed into your pained face, Met the depth of your ocean blue eyes, My hand in yours a moment we shared. Apace your chest fell and rose As you took your last breath. Story ended in silence. Indescribable hopeless heartbreak. In so much grief, how could I carry on. As I move forward, Not a day goes by that I don't think How perfectly satisfied we both were, Once upon a time. 11/2/2022 Inspired By A Song - Once There Was A Love Poetry Contest Sponsored by: JCB Brul
