Hop It
Fred frog would a dancing go, With his best friend Bob's girlfriend Flo, Flo went to all the dances Where all the male frogs she entrances She knew how to bebop And she and Fred danced a lot Poor Bob felt miserable and sad Sitting alone on a Lily pad. Looking longingly at Flo Listening to the male frogs Croaking, go, Flo, go And go she did And so did Fred She slithered and slid Until her face was red Sweat streamed down From Freds face The two were jitterbugging At a frantic pace. Bob couldn't bear to look anymore, He started to move toward the door. He had had enough Of this complicated dancing stuff, Suddenly he heard someone say Hi, Bert Bullfrog came passing by, Why are you leaving? Bert said. It's far too early to go to bed, Would you like to dance with My sister Phi She would like to have a chance To dance with someone else but me. Phi smiled shyly at Fred. As Fred tried to take in what Bert had just said Fred answered nervously Nobody wants to dance with me Because I cannot dance, you see Nor can I, said Phi But I can walk, talk, and hop, Sometimes I hop and cannot stop. And would I love to do it with you, Fred, if you would like to Would I ever? Fred replied Feeling satisfied inside As he slipped his arm around her waist Very gingerly, without haste, They merrily hopped onto the floor And danced in tune forevermore.
