I wish you luck, my dear.” He looked about and found a good place where he set up camp. It seemed the perfect site. He thought, “Oh, dang, I’ve no pj’s to wear. Oh well, at least there’s not a soul in sight. I’ll use two of my blankets of fox fur to cover up myself when sleeping bare nearby my blazing fire of Douglas fir.” Too bad he did not know about the bear! He did not know that he happened to be beneath a tree where honey was. Oh no! Protective was the swarm of their queen bee. Another thing the poor man did not know. The bear that came for honey chanced to meet the naked hunter lying on a cot. The menu of the bear then changed to meat. The hunter, chased by bees and bear, got caught. The weekend passed. His wife began to pray, for he had not returned by Monday morning. ‘Twas later learned he’d been a bear’s bare prey. His widow even now remains in mourning!
