The Really Big Tiny Thing
Deep in a crack live some real tiny creatures Between horns and tail they're just two millimetres But these tiny critters are such hungry eaters They eat smaller bugs in the carpet near heaters But one day the bugs by the heaters were gone And now there was nothing to be fed upon One tiny bug said if there’s nothing smaller We’ll have to eat something that’s longer or taller A voice from the deepest dark part of the crack Said now I suppose you will welcome me back You stuck me back here like a freak in a zoo But now you need me for I’m bigger than you He entered the light where the crack opened wider The really big bug was as big as a spider Some tiny bugs hadn’t seen him before They gasped for his head was so far from the floor His fangs were so sharp and his horns were so long His tail was a whip and his shell good and strong He stood tall and proud and his war cry was loud He watched as a path opened up through the crowd His antennae twitched as he sensed something tasty He said, “Lunch is coming so let’s make this hasty.” A big kiss from one tiny bug that was cute And then he was crushed by the home owner’s boot So the big tiny thing achieved nothing at all For big tiny things are still pretty small [I had to categorise this as ‘Nursery Rhyme’ as neither ‘Life’s a B*tch’ or ‘Wicked’ were available options… Shame, eh?]
