We don this plate that gives way to purpose so that we may defend. To be a shield and selfless hope-spark, for those who need a friend. These tasks are not without reward, your gratitude is our wealth. Though battles may become collective wounds to our mental health. These risks they are self chosen, damaged armor without repair. Some label us "welcome mat"s as we make efforts they won't dare. It doesn't matter how they see us, they miss this very simple point. They never held the brazen soulfire with which we were anoint. Know that we're not perfect, we make mistakes as any can. But we serve a special purpose in the lives of our fellow man. At times this armor grows too heavy, this is not some light boast.
