Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required Merlin, the magic cat, was treading lightly For some of his pranks had turned out unsightly Like taking the scissors to our dog’s fluffy tail, After knocking over expensive bottles of ale. He can make homework magically disappear Saying a cute “meow” and look ever so dear, While bringing the gift of a mutilated mouse Hiding our prized treasures all over the house, [And weeks later make them suddenly reappear] Most of all, he was known for his presence Opening our lovely-wrapped Christmas presents. Once, Merlin went on a glorious holiday spree We found him nestled inside our Christmas tree. One trick, however, Merlin never could master He could scurry up a tree faster and even faster, But coming back down, was a mystery to him Time after time we fetched him, limb after limb. Merlin was certainly gifted with over nine lives For his magical antics I offer my fond high fives! No longer with us, he performs stunts elsewhere, Waiting at the rainbow bridge until we get there.
