It's Not About Me
He was Wrong... As wrong as he could ever be. He was under the impression that... In his words "not everything is about me". I disagreed... & He got mad... Mad when I stopped asking him, showing him, and demanding that he love me, the way that I needed to be loved. & He got mad... Mad when I sought the love I needed, from me, through me, for me. & He got mad... Mad when, I decided that his meager offerings, were incomparable... to what I could offer myself. Frustration made him lash out. The same Frustration made me hold myself tighter, like I needed to be held... Teaching me again, something else that I can do for myself. & He got mad... But, you know what I got? I got glad. Glad that it wasn't too late for escape. Glad he made me see... It could never be about us. But it's still about me... & He got mad... Because I figured out that I needed me More than I needed him. So I said, "You know what? Stay mad." & I'm glad.
