Time For a Bottle
Collaboration with Marcello Eans Time seems to be such a precious thing to so many. Without it, society wouldn’t go on livin’. Time is one of our most priceless commodities. Yet, we don’t take advantage of the time we’re given. It’s funny that people say they never have enough time, But when they have a day off, they don’t know what to do. Should I rest the body or relax the mind? I’m a slave to what I give my time over to. As the sand trickles & the pendulum swings, We procrastinate and put off a million & one things; The apology to my friend I had an argument with, Conversation with Grandma sealed with a kiss. Proposing to my girlfriend of 7½ years, Sharing with my children some of dad’s greatest fears. Why waste time like water and then complain? Let’s learn to value time and appreciate the rain. Take the time to appreciate the ones you love. Let them know that it’s them you’re thinking of. As I sift through the moments of my life, I always come back to thoughts of my wife. I think of the time we’ve spent together. I couldn’t imagine my life without her. Time knows no end, yet we give time a limit. Everything we do has some kind of schedule to it. Our lives shouldn’t revolve around being in a hurry. As they say, “Stop and take the time to smell the roses.” Or does thirty & single breed a little worry? No great accomplishments, maybe you lost focus. Our minds veer off and wander, robbing us of time. Attention loss, in the long run, our future we harm. Do things we don’t enjoy, just to be kind. How much time did you use in reading this poem?
