That's my reaction when it strikes too near. I see the hovering of nimbus clouds. They're wearing dark cloaks like funeral shrouds. I just felt the first drops of falling rain. They sting like fire nettles, causing great pain. Is the wind blowing things helter-skelter? The storm approaches: we must take shelter. I see a flock of starlings taking flight. They're fleeing from squalls coming in the night. I'm quivering like a tremulous bird. This weather rends your nerves until they've stirred. It's drawing closer with each thunderous roar! Take courage. We've been through tempests before. If a tornado comes, what should we do? To the basement until the threat is through. I should kindle a fire to warm the room. That's a good thought to get rid of the gloom. I'm worried shingles will blow off the roof. This house has been through worse weather as proof. Is it possible there will be a flood? Trust me. There's sure to be puddles of mud. Isn't it strange that storms arrive in the night? That seems to be true, but we'll be alright. I must sound like a whining worry wart. That thought would never cross my mind, sweetheart. Ignore my ramblings, but I cannot sleep. There's chamomile tea. I'm letting it steep. I think the wind is dying down at last. Thank goodness. It appears the worst has passed. I want to thank you for staying with me. There is no place else I would rather be.
