Perchance To Dream
Do you ever look forward to falling asleep... In hopes of escaping into sweet dreams so deep? :) If you dread nightmares, careful what TV you watch (My advice: E.W.T.N. is topnotch!) Could read the Bible till your eyelids start to droop Or read nice verses (like mine) on PoetrySoup My mother told me, when I was a little girl: Contemplate happy thoughts which your dreams can unfurl (Okay, she did not use every difficult word... Give me a break, RhymeZone turns me into a nerd) ;) Anywho, it works; I attempt that to this day Plus another thing that helps me now-- is to pray! :D Praying has a wonderful effect, most calming! And welcomes Tomorrow! (No need for embalming!) My way to "take arms against a sea of troubles" Is with my rosary (so Faith, Hope, Love doubles!) What I'm saying is, I enjoy Resting in Peace Without necessitating death as a release Hamlet's dark suggestion -- "perchance" -- as a query Negotiates with Death on a badass theory It is better "to be," rather than to misjudge The "conscience as cowardice" (when it is courage!) I much prefer to live, and at dream's end, awake Rather than "ending heartache" (putting my soul at stake) Salvation's too precious to play Russian roulette And all forms of suicide make others upset If you know someone who has taken their own life Please pray for them, because they might still be in strife Instead of making all their earthly problems cease On the contrary, their pains perhaps did increase If there was no doubt, there'd be zero point to pray But there is still hope, even if they went astray God is so merciful! But we should not presume That they will go straight to Heaven, right from their tomb Believe!: It would be "nobler" to "wish devoutly" For God's holy Will! By trusting Jesus stoutly To do this, we must endure trials on the way Life is worth living, even when we feel cray-cray Perseverance through suffering tends to improve* First character, then God's Hope, when we've lost our groove Besides, the End of life is up to God's Timing (I want to instill the Will to Live with my rhyming)** Cuz I say: "His Mercies are new every morning!"*** Our hearts -- loved by God -- deserve gentle adorning**** Please remember this: whatever you have been through God was with you, He cares, and He always loves you [* Romans 5:3-5 ** reasons2live.org *** Lamentations 3:22-23 **** 1 Peter 3:3-4 (All quoted words refer to Hamlet's "To be or not to be" speech)] For "As I Dream" contest
