What Is For Supper
They had dated for six months. Heckie was beginning to get frustrated. Other couples were united in physical ways. She was adorable, but had kept him jerry rigged with kisses. And hand holds. He wondered how much longer he could take it. She was gorgeous, but she was not his, and it was frustrating. My parents are out of town, she told him. I am fixing you supper. Heckie figured her brothers would be there, they were always there. He had played lots of Minecraft with both of them, while waiting. Waiting for her to make up her mind to be his girl. Running out of hope, he was less than enthusiastic about this date. But he accepted, because he was socialized and Catholic. She was wearing an exceptionally short skirt, pleated and white. Made sense, considering her virginal status. The high heeled shoes looked crazy with it, but sexy too. He felt his body reacting, and looked around for her brothers. The eight year old might not notice but the fifteen-year-old would. What are you doing down there? She purred. She was standing on the stairs looking like a blonde goddess. Where are the boys? He asked. They are at their friends’ houses for the night. What’s for supper? Was his next question. “Me,” she said. Her eyes were dancing with mischief. He took those stairs two at a time.
