Earthwords
Earth Words David J Walker *Call it the afterlife if for no other reason The uncertainty of living in the here and now The stars are part and parcel to the late-night road map Printed in tattoo black ink on the face of the universe *Falling back into a yellow glow of horse-like cosmic clouds Seems extreme but better than facing another night alone on the darkened parts of the moon *The nurse returned and said I am scheduled next to exit the planet but you never know for sure about these things and I should call my family *If for no other reason the afterlife opens its curtain to the uncertain grand entrance to the cosmos and you can hear someone, maybe your mother, calling your name, drawing you in via unknown motion *And the atonement demands a blank slate you may forget all of your unanswered questions of little interest beyond this earth where words again have no meaning
