Author's Notes
A Letter from Heaven! This Poem was Inspired by My Reaction to Individuals Carrying Out Abortions on a Daily Basis, as if that New Life Had Little or NO Meaning. I think that This IS Wrong. I realize that This is A Complicated Subject. In My Early Twenties, I Felt like I Could Understand why Someone Would Make that Choice, because at that Age I was Not Prepared or Ready Mentally, Financially or Otherwise to Take On the Responsibility of Having a Baby, Wife OR Other Responsibilities which Would accompany such an Event. Thus, I Realize that This Topic is Very Complicated, But I Would Never want My Baby to be Aborted, Killed or Hurt in Any Way. The Name that I Call You Today! This Poem was Inspired by Experiencing COVID-19 causing Havoc on My Life, The Economy, The World and the Environment in Which I Live. In Addition to the Helpless Feeling of Not Being able to Solve, Find Solutions, or Understand How the Sudden Passing of Family, Friends and Loved Ones Would Directly Affect My Life. In Addition to having this Cycle repeat itself Over and Over again, With No End in Sight. Will I Ever have a Seat at the Table Too? I was Inspired to Write this Poem because Society, or the Dominant and Ruling Class Often Diminish, Reduce or Not Acknowledge the Positive Contributions Made by Persons of Color, to the Growth, Development, Establishment and Cultivation of This Nation and the World in Which We Live. History Books May Never Truly Account for Their Contribution, Their Talent, Gift or Sacrifice(s) to Make this Land What It Is Today. The Colors that Separate US! This Poem was Inspired by the Divide which came about by Neighbors, Family and Members of Society, Choosing Different Political Parties of which to Belong or Give Allegiance, and Its Implications on Daily Life. It Also Ponders How Unreasonable Others can be Because They Think Differently, Have A Differing Political View, Or Stand Further to the Left or Right of Our Current Position. The Baddest Man On The Planet! This Poem was Inspired by Hearing Mr. Mike Tyson Give an Interview, and him talking of the Challenges, Obstacles and Events which he had to Overcome as a Child Merely to Survive, The Environment in which he was born. How He Became one of the Best and Most Successful Boxing Professionals in the World, and how he now Lives to Support and Love his Wife and Kids, in their various Activities or Endeavors.
