Our Weather Lady Is Now Officially On My S::T-List
I’d slept quite well the night before, the sky was clear and sunny, when - glancing out my kitchen window, keen to read the gauge - I was bummed, but not surprised, to find that it was empty...given how the weather lady’d clearly set the stage For what she’d claimed was going to be - ‘our biggest storm in years’ - with gusting winds of up to a hundred miles an hour - plus, So...seeing an empty rain gauge...after everything I’d done to limit its destruction, was enough to make me cuss! My neighbor, much the same as me, had covered all her flowers and gathered up and dragged inside what had been on her lawn, Assuming, much the same as me, that - were the lady right - the bulk of what we’d left outside would probably be gone! I rang her up and quizzed her - ‘would you like to be proactive and look this weather-guru up and take the cow to task’. “You bet your butt,” she fired back, “‘cause - much the same as me - I’m sure you’ve got some questions that you’d really love to ask. “Someone needs to corner her to learn from where her answers - used to make predictions of the weather - tend to come, ‘Cause I and many others,- who’ve been ‘rained on by surprise’ - believe that virtually every frickin’ weather-person’s dumb! “I’m bettin’ it’s the radar crap they use to make their forecasts that’s causing them to misconstrue what actually lies ahead!” “I agree,” I countered...“they’re more often wrong than not...and I can understand why one occasionally winds up dead! “I swear to God they do it just to spite us non-believers...we who’ve been their victims when they’ve wound up being wrong... And you can bet the time between today and their next F-up - ruining someone’s best-laid-plans - will definitely not be long!”
