That Future Dream
The world, it is a turning. The rivers, they are a flowing. The children, they are a growing. The hearts, they are a beating. But what does that mean? When the world, it is a burning. When the rivers, they are a dying. When the children, they are a starving. When the hearts, they are a bleeding. The balance of life is so precious indeed. So why do we keep on repeating everything mankind doesn’t need repeating? All the good deeds we keep undoing, all the love we keep on killing. All the hope we keep on smothering, all the joy we keep on hating. The children of tomorrow will live in the world of our sorrow. They’ll take on the responsibility to fix what we bleed. To keep the world upon a spinning, to keep a life upon a living. Pray that they have more humanity than the humans that did them precede.
