Invitation a Culinary Greek Destination
Let’s begin with A strong fresh Brewed Greek coffee The aroma alone, Will wake up Your senses, Allow you to Let go, to keep An open mind to delight And excite You, relax your taste buds. About to travel, Don’t put up fences, Today is the morning After the night before, No doubt you feel groggy You drank lots of Ouzo and Raki, And you are now Paying the fee. But don’t slurp it To the bottom, An experience Never forgotten. Let’s get started, We invite you To our Greek buffet day, So please stay. PARAKALEO, No need to think It through, Any excuse will do. The menu includes Spanakopita, And Tiropita With feta Haloumi, and parmesan Cheese, Kleftiko lamb cooking Slowly and steady. People salivating, Knives, forks at the ready, Greek roast potatoes Add olive oil and butter, Garlic, cloves, bay leaves, Add loads of lemon, Leaves a lasting impression, Sea salt and ground pepper, Oh, I forgot Organum, A must, always in the kitchen Of a Greek home and mum. There will be plenty of pasta, With bolognaise ala Greco mode, tons of garlic, And napolitana sauce. For the vegetarian, Par of the course. Parmesan cheese Whipped with sour cream, Bought from a Greek deli, Add chopped olives. We’ve Planned a delicious Menu for all, Eaten any season of the year, Spring, summer Winter or fall. How can there ever be A menu and Greek buffet, Without pita And souvlakia and humus, And tzatziki and taramosalata, And our last savoury dish Is moussaka, With fried potatoes, Aubergines and a tasty Greek style mince, layer It, and make a béchamel, Light and fluffy What a treat, spill it on top, Béchamel can never flop! Now we arrive at fun time, Ice cream and hot Chocolate sauce, Why, just because, Loukoumades, fried to A golden brown, And smothered in honey, And sesame Seed and baklava, Prepared lovingly, And carefully oiling Each filo and then baking It with an assortment of Nuts, chopped figs, Fig jam and honey Well how about We open a poetry soup Kitchen So we can learn how To become Michelin Chefs!
