Believe Me, This Is a True Story
BELIEVE ME, THIS IS A TRUE STORY Going back to when I was 10 yrs old, I had this daft idea to use my bedroom window frame to get the lead out of a spilt pencil, weird me, anyway I opened the window, stuck my pencil in between the frame and the window that opened, then tried to close the open window onto the pencil, it worked, but in doing so I also cracked what was then the single pane glass in the window frame that opened, oops, so what did I do, nothing, I just closed the window and the curtains behind it, like nothing happened . . . Now my Mother everyday on finishing work use to go out into the back garden to feed the Koi fish we had in a pond there, but lucky for me for a week, or so she never looked up at my window and noticed, or opened the curtains when making my bed and such . . . But, my Father, who was a civil engineer worked away for 6 weeks at a time, and I guess we must have been in winter as it was night time, late on, like 10pm where he returned home from being away, then it was off into the back garden to see the Kio fish, he had actually built the pond for them, so it was like his pride and joy, and Mother's also, but the cracked window had not gone past his notice, so, he comes in and it was straight up stairs and into my bedroom to see the cracked window . . . Lord; I'm sure no one is going to believe this, but just as my Father drew back the curtains to look at the crack in the window, Fred, our family Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, who was quite hefty, saw his reflection in the window, thinking it was another dog jumped at the window barking, and you've guessed it, cracked the other window . . . A lucky mink me,no explanation needed.Twas Fred, who done it. And, that was me, well and truly, off the hook . . . ; ) "True Story" . . . : )
