The nightmares, The blood and the crash. I imagine it every day, How scared you must have been? How was I not with you that fateful day? I feel you every day trying, To tell me you’re ok. I feel you behind me as I’m cooking, Always making sure I don’t over salt the food. At night looking up at the stars, Like we’ve done so many times before, I feel the kiss on my neck as you are, Reassuring me to trust myself, To breathe again, To live again and, Realize in my heart that you’re gone, And I have to let you go.
