Waiting, Yielded, and Still - Jeremiah 18: 1-10
The great old hymn of a past age 'have thine own way Lord' has said surrendering to God's will in one's life God's the potter, we're the clay to be as dead In God's will seek God's approval resign oneself for a mould and make learn to be waiting on the Lord in His time for it's for your sake Lord please search and try me help us to yield under your hand bow our will to fit into yours hold me so we're able to stand So much action in this world it's a strange thing to be still but God requires us to know Him still is the key no matter our will Have thine own way Lord you are the potter make us bow with the clay accordingly at will in your presence do it now (The Potter and the Clay The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear[a] my words.” So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do. Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it.) Jeremiah 18: 1-10 (ESV) (Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way; Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mould me and make me After Thy will, While I am waiting, Yielded and still. 2 Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way; Search me and try me, Master, today. Whiter than snow, Lord, Wash me just now, As in Thy presence Humbly I bow. 3 Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way; Wounded and weary, Help me, I pray. Power, all power, Surely is Thine, Touch me and heal me, Savior divine. 4 Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way; Hold o’er my being Absolute sway. Fill with Thy Spirit Till all shall see Christ only, always, Living in me. - Adelaide A. Pollard(1862-1934)
