Snow Girl
with arms outstretched girl twirls as snow falls faintly in a landscape of derelict white young face upturned a soft mouth that widens for her tongue catching flakes like disappearing gems small spikes of cold a secret happiness in plucky spins a pulse she senses like stitching dreams wistful musings lifting her spirits from the discord of home scooped like jam she twirls and twirls self propelled her eyes teary with the melt of snow till the gray coat of December slips from her in icy silence like unspoken wishing her dance whiffs of hope that steam the air an ease of forgetting her trusted possession gleaming just beneath winter's stare Poem composed: April 13, 2022 Revised December 10th, 2022 (Inspiring Quote: "...there can be no happiness...no hope no pride... no present without forgetfulness." Nietzsche)
